Recipe for Success: Matcha Recipe

You’ve probably heard this time and time again, “stop drinking coffee and switch to tea! It’s healthier for you and more beneficial!” However, they never really tell you how.

That’s why MatchaBears is here to inform you so that you can keep that healthy lifestyle going in February. In this week’s blog, we’re going to cover a basic matcha recipe, giving you the chance to switch things up and spice things up in your life. Notice how a small change in your daily routine can impact your perspective.

Green tea is amazing and allows you to get in more antioxidants, however, powdered matcha is even better! Matcha in it’s raw, powdered form, offers over 100 times more antioxidants than green tea! Best way to make the transition is with a smoothie recipe, therefore maximizing the benefits and antioxidants you get from matcha. A healthy lifestyle starts with a healthy diet, implementing a smoothie into your routine will transform your wellbeing!

To get things started, I recommend freezing the fruits you intend to use for smoothies. The consistency, texture and temperature you get from freezing the fruits makes the smoothie that much better. I suggest 1-2 frozen bananas for your smoothie’s base, giving it a nice smooth and creamy texture. Add a bit of milk, use whatever your preference leans to. Make sure you add a very small amount, I like a thick, creamy smoothie — rather than a watery thin finish. Additionally, I personally prefer soy milk and the occasional switch to coconut milk just to keep things interesting. Follow up with a tablespoon of matcha powder. Lastly, I add frozen blueberries before doing small chunks of pineapple or a squeeze of lemon. That squeeze of lemon gives it a nice additional sweetness to finish everything, you can find any other supplement that suits your preferences. Such as vanilla extract, or maybe a half teaspoon of raw organic honey. Make sure you switch things up to keep things interesting! Occasionally I keep the blueberries out of the smoothie and use them to top off my cup instead!

Best of all, making a killer smoothie will truly impress your cuffing partner. If you want to keep this partnership going, this is a great way to show them that you care for their health. Eating healthy is easier when you have someone to keep you accountable. This smoothie will make you feel like you’re indulging and satisfying your sweet tooth. Lastly, this smoothie will help keep your energy and focus up throughout the day.
